TWO amateur cyclists have completed their first long distance cycle, a 165-mile charity bike ride from Weymouth to Erith on 31st May to 1st June, in memory of their father-in-law, Les Heath, who passed away at Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice last year.

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice in Abbey Wood can now make improvements to the physical environment of the Hospice thanks to an award of £944,180. The Hospice was chosen as one of 176 hospices across the country by Norman Lamb, the minister for care and support, to receive the funding boost.

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice’s Santa Dash was deemed a huge success with over 200 people running, walking and jogging 5km around Danson Park in Bexleyheath. The event, in its first year, was held on Sunday, 25th November to raise funds for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.
