Bexleyheath Broadway Shopping Centre will be hosting the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice Moonlit Walk for the third year next month. The night-time 10km walk from the Broadway Shopping Centre and back will be taking place on Saturday 13th September and registration is now open for this ladies only event.

The second annual Constructive Carers Awards held at The House of Lords, by kind permission of The Lord Speaker on July 29, saw Dan Catchsides from Eltham gain recognition for his charitable work with the Freddie Farmer Foundation. The awards, sponsored by Guardian Air & Water Hygiene in association this year with The Kids Company seek out people who work within property from; design through construction to maintenance – who are unsung heroes who do so much for others.

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice is celebrating a successful Open Gardens weekend this summer (14-15 June), with £13,200 being raised for the charity, which provides free specialist end of life nursing, medical care and support for local people and their families.

A number of members of Gravesend and Meopham Rotary Club together with their partners went the extra mile to raise monies for two deserving causes last month. This team of Hospice nurses from the inpatient unit at Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice along with housekeepers and kitchen staff rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in to sort all kinds of donated stock for the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice shops recently.
