Beaverwood Girls Give up Their Phones for Charity For 24 hours a group of Beaverwood School for Girls prove that life can go on without social media. Sealing their phones into bags that were signed by their teachers, they carried proof of their commitment with them all day. Friends and family sponsored the girls to go “old school” in order to raise cash for Demelza House, a children’s hospice in Bromley.

Lewisham residents Yinka Ojo, Shaun Condon and Natalie Frost have been collecting thousands of educational books to ship to a village library in Osun State, Nigeria. Books donated from libraries, publishers and generous individuals are destined for the village of Ifon Osun in the Orolu Kingdom, Osun State, Nigeria.

A new self-help support group has launched in Sidcup for adults suffering communication problems caused by damage, injury or trauma to the brain, whether that be as the result of a stroke or brain haemorrhage.

The Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice Santa Dash was a huge success with nearly 350 people running, walking and jogging 5km around Danson Park in Bexleyheath. The event, in its second year, was held on Sunday, 1st December to raise funds for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.
