DGSM yourChoice will be hosting an exciting week of workshops to celebrate Learning Disability week next week. This is the fifth year of this very successful event which brings together people with learning disabilities and enables people to take part in new activities, learn new skills and meet new friends. During the week they will be launching their new book ‘Choices’. Students from the Professional Writing Foundation Degree course at North West Kent College Dartford have collaborated with people using DGSM yourChoice services and produced a book sharing stories about their lives.
The book; ‘Choices,’ has just been published and will soon be available to order in bookshops and via internet retailers like Amazon. It devotes individual chapters to different adults with learning disabilities, presenting photographs, details of their lives and some fictional stories. The aim of the book is to provide an insight into the lives of those living with learning disabilities, showing the capabilities they bring to their lives and the choices they have made. The book will also be available locally through DGSM yourChoice.
