Fourteen members of Bromley Ramblers spent a morning clearing four footpaths in the Chelsfield area of overgrowing trees and bushes and waist high nettles and brambles. Armed with secateurs, loppers, saws and rakes, they took to the task with enthusiasm to ensure that these important public rights of way remain open and easy to use for both local people and walkers alike.

Beaverwood Girls Give up Their Phones for Charity For 24 hours a group of Beaverwood School for Girls prove that life can go on without social media. Sealing their phones into bags that were signed by their teachers, they carried proof of their commitment with them all day. Friends and family sponsored the girls to go “old school” in order to raise cash for Demelza House, a children’s hospice in Bromley.

We have just returned from the most wonderful afternoon's entertainment in memory of the festival that helped launch David Bowie's career back in the summer of 1969, the incentive being to raise funds to restore the beautiful bandstand within the grounds of Croydon Rec, where it all took place 44 years ago.
