“Why can’t women tell the difference between a gentleman and Mr. Nice Guy,” moaned Raj,

“I hate always being the nice guy! Women should realize a great man when they see one…”

You have no idea how many times a week I hear this.

As a dating coach at least 10 per cent of my job is hearing people grumble about the men are from Mars/ women are from Venus thing.

Planets aside though there was something obviously flawed in Raj’s complaint.

To me, it’s pretty obvious that just hoping a whole gender will change their way of thinking is at best wishful thinking, at worst, well plain wrong, as I’m pretty sure that most women at least know what they like/ don’t like.

So before you begin to complain about how the rest (or at least half) of the world doesn’t ‘get’ you; I’d think about what is within your power to change.

Raj may not be able to change the opinion’s of all women; but if he worked on being a little more confident, and a little less whiny, he may have got at least a few women to see what an amazing man he was.

Because there’s nothing wrong with a Nice Guy, or a gentleman; but everyone likes someone who is positive, ‘can do’ and takes responsibility for their own problems.
