If you listen to the Palace fans it seems one player was at fault for their 3-1 defeat by Manchester City on Sunday.

That player was Patrick van Aanholt.

Up against Player of The Year contender in Raheem Sterling, he was always going to be in for a tough day, but many believe his showing against the two-goal ace was well below par.

Itโ€™s true his positioning could have been better for Sterlingโ€™s brace, a hat-trick if he tucked away a sitter early on.

Fans have often singled out the left-back for being the weak link this season, so have Mamadou Sakho and James Tomkins been sparing his blushes this campaign or is PvA becoming a scapegoat in what has largely been a frustrating season for Palace in every aspect?
