West Brom visit The Den on Saturday with nothing other than a win on their minds.

The Baggies currently sit fourth, six points adrift of Leeds United in second, and hope to increase their three-game winning streak against a Millwall side fighting at the foot of the table.

Tough Task

Caretaker manager Jimmy Shan believes his side are capable of winning their remaining seven games and gate crashing the top two, but knows their trip to Bermondsey won’t be as straight forward as the form guide suggests.

“I watched them on Saturday and they were fantastic for 50 minutes and took the game right to Leeds,” he told WBA.

“They’re a hardworking, well-organised, well-drilled team and they had a real threat on the counter-attack against Leeds.

“I was sat 10 yards from the away fans at Elland Road and that gave me a glimpse of the kind of atmosphere they drum up. It will be a tough task.

“They’ve had a good cup run with some big performances against big opposition so I’m expecting a difficult task.”

Shan, who took over the reins from Darren Moore in March, has targeted the top two as they look to bounce back into the Premiership on their first attempt.

“We have seven games remaining, let’s max out on all those seven games and see where that takes us.

“I don’t want to get too concerned with who and what and where the teams above us are playing.

“We have to just take care of our own business.

“I said right at the very start that 91 points should be enough to get automatic promotion.”

Millwall meanwhile are one place and one point above Rotherham in the relegation zone, but crucially with a game in hand.

“Games mean so much now to every team now, this is the business end of the season, and why we love the game,” Millwall manager Neil Harris told Millwall FC.

“This year we would love to be further up the table, but we are where we are and we have to embrace the challenge and accept the pressures they bring.

“I’m looking forward to the next couple of home games.

“Last three games have been outstanding performances and if we carry that on then we will pick points up.”

It's Their Club

Despite back to back defeats against Brighton and Leeds, the Millwall manager goes into Saturday’s fixture confident after impressive showings against both sides.

“We were knocked out of the cup by Brighton, but it was a moral victory, and at Leeds we played against a team that were outstanding, and we matched them all the way.

“We need to carry that into the weekend.”

Ahead of the game Harris hailed the Lions fans, and called upon them to urge his side in the remaining fixtures.

“You can’t explain the atmosphere at The Den.

“Elland Road was great and it was a privilege to manage there.

“Millwall fans played their part there and that’s as close as it gets to The Den.

“Which is testament to our fans, at The Den in our cauldron.

“And we need that until the end of the season.

“It’s their club, and we are just playing our part.

“We just need to make sure we do our bit on the pitch.”
