Lee Bowyer has until 6.00pm on Thursday to respond to the FA charge of using abusive or insulting language to the referee in Charlton’s 2-1 win at AFC Wimbledon.
The Charlton manager was given a straight red card shortly after receiving a yellow card in the 46th minute of the tie at Kingsmeadow on Saturday.
It was alleged that Bowyer used ‘abusive and/or insulting language’ in both before and after his sending off by Chris Kavanaugh.

The FA released the following statement:
"Lee Bowyer has been charged with two breaches of FA Rule E3 following the game against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday [23 February 2019].
"It is alleged the Charlton Athletic manager used abusive and/or insulting language towards the match referee in both the 46th minute and following his dismissal.
"He has until 18:00 on 28 February 2019 to provide a response."
The straight red card would mean a fine and a ban is likely, with Wilfried Zaha serving an extra game ban for a similar charge when he was sent-off for sarcastically clapping the referee.
Bowyer will know his fate ahead of his side’s crucial trip to Doncaster this weekend.
