Greg Davies and Alex Horne return with a new series of Taskmaster tonight on Channel 4.

Taskmaster will return tonight for series 16 with celebrity contestants set to compete in a range of whacky challenges.

It has only been a few months (June) since the last series concluded which saw Mae Martin being crowned the winner.

Along with Davies and Horne, five new celebrity contestants will feature on Taskmaster for series 16:

  • Julian Clary
  • Lucy Beaumont
  • Sam Campbell
  • Sue Perkins
  • Susan Wokoma

Julian Clary is a comedian, actor, novelist and presenter who became known as a regular on Friday Night Live during the 1980s.

Lucy Beaumont is a stand-up comedian known for her deadpan and observational humour and is married to 8 Out of 10 Cats legend Jon Richardson.

Sue Perkins is a comedian well-known for her double-act with Mel Giedroyc and for being a presenter on The Great British Bake Off between 2010 and 2016.

While, Susan Wokoma is an actress, writer and director who has appeared in the Enola Holmes films and The Inbetweeners 2 among others.

Who is Taskmaster series 16 contestant Sam Campbell?

Sam Campbell, 32, is an Australian stand-up comedian and actor.

He has had quite a successful career to date as a stand-up comedian winning both Best Newcomer (2015) and Most Outstanding Show (2018) at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and Best Comedy Show (2022) at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

He is also the co-creator of the cult TV comedy Nippers of Dead Bird Bay.

When does the new season of Taskmaster start?

The first episode of series 16 of Taskmaster will air at 9pm on Thursday, September 21 on Channel 4.

There will be 10 episodes in the new series which will likely air at the same time every Thursday up until November 23.
