A new season of Taskmaster on Channel 4 is now only days away as host Greg Davies returns once again to challenge some of the biggest and up-and-coming comedians.

As usual, he will be joined by comedy genius Alex Horne who created the BAFTA award-winning TV series.

There will be five famous faces battling it out in some of the most bizarre conquests yet, hoping to be crowned Taskmaster champion.

Among Lucy Beaumont, Sam Campbell, Sue Perkins, and Susan Wokoma will be TV presenter, actor and comedian Julian Clary.

Julian began his career under the name Leo Hurll before starring on Friday Night Live which was originally broadcast on Channel 4 in the mid to late 1980s.

Years later, the now 64-year-old went on to win Celebrity Big Brother in 2012 which also featured Coleen Nolan and Martin Kemp.

He has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, Have I Got News For You, QI, Who Do You Think You Are? and in a cameo on Neighbours.



Who is Julian Clary’s husband?

Julian is married to Ian Mackley - the couple met at a yacht party in Ibiza before becoming an item in 2005, reports The Sun.

They married in November 2016.

When does Taskmaster series 16 start?

Taskmaster will return to Channel 4 on Thursday, September 21 at 9pm, according to the Radio Times TV listing.

The full synopsis of the first episode reads: “Comedian Julian Clary, actress, writer and stand-up Lucy Beaumont, award-winning stand-up Sam Campbell, writer and comedian Sue Perkins and actress, writer and director Susan Wokoma battle to win an elaborate joust to become the 16th Taskmaster champion.

“As usual, Alex Horne helps maintain order amid the chaos, though falls foul of Taskmaster Greg Davies at one point because of peas.

“Elsewhere, Lucy marvels at a canned blindfold and everyone tries to put a big duck in a lake.”
