A man has won a new Mini in a competition almost 50 years after his father won a Mini.
Nigel Wood, from Orpington, said the win "doesn't happen to people like us" after he was revealed as the latest Dream Car Competition winner in BOTB’s weekly giveaway.
His father won a Mini in the 1970s in a school raffle to raise money for a swimming pool.

Mr Wood said: "We’ve been saying he’s probably looking down on us and having a right old chuckle that we’ve won one now. It’s so funny how this has happened in the family again."
Mr Wood, 67, who previously worked as a chartered surveyor in construction, was at home when BOTB presenter Christian Williams arrived to break the news.
He said: "That’s just brilliant. This sort of thing doesn’t happen to people like us. But I never thought that would happen to us."
After revealing the win, Mr Williams walked Mr Wood down the road to show him the prize: a fully-electric Mini Aceman SE Sport worth £33,000. He was joined by his wife, who could barely believe what she was seeing and asked Mr Williams if it was a wind-up.
Mr Williams said: "It was lovely to see both Nigel and his wife’s reactions when they realised the Mini was theirs."
Speaking the day after the surprise, Mr Wood said he was still processing the news and weighing up whether to keep the car or take the cash alternative.
He said: "The sensible option would be to add it to our pension fund, but that’s no fun, so we might go on a nice holiday and do something we normally wouldn’t do."
BOTB, founded in 1999, has given away prizes to over 677,000 people, including £158m-worth of cars so far.
