This week Southern services in south London will be impacted by engineering works, along with industrial action on Wednesday – here’s everything you need to know.

This week industrial action taking place on Wednesday, December 6 will mean that no Southern services will run on the day.

Over the course of the week engineering works will amend services, with some being diverted or closed altogether as works take place.

Here’s everything you need to know:

Monday, December 4 to Friday, December 8 - Amended late night / early morning trains between Sydenham / Norwood Junction and West Croydon / Sutton / Epsom

Between Monday and Friday there will be an amended late night and early morning service running between Sydenham or Norwood Junction and West Croydon or Sutton or Epson.

This is due to engineering works taking place between Sydenham and West Croydon, which will close some lines on these days.

This will affect Southern services running between London Bridge and Epsom, and London Victoria and Epsom Downs.

After 11pm buses will replace trains running between Norwood Junction or Selhurst and Sutton or Epson Downs.

Monday, December 4 to Thursday, December 7 - Buses replace late night trains between East Croydon / Purley and Tattenham Corner / Caterham

Engineering work taking place between Purley and Caterham and Tattenham Corner will close all lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.

On these days, from 10:50pm until the end of service, buses will replace trains running between East Croydon or Purley and Tattenham Corner or Caterham.

Wednesday, December 6: No Southern services to run

As a result of strike action from ASLEF members, there will be no Southern services running on Wednesday.

Saturday, December 9 and Sunday, December 10 - Buses replace trains between London Bridge and Streatham

Engineering work taking place between London Bridge and Streatham via Peckham will close all lines over the weekend.

A replacement bus service will run between London Bridge and Streatham via Peckham Rye on the weekend.

Trains between London Bridge and Beckenham Junction will not run.

Customers travelling between East Croydon and Beckenham Junction are being advised to use their tickets on London Tram services to complete their journeys.

Sunday, December 10 - Buses replace trains between Sutton and Dorking

Engineering work taking place between Sutton and Leatherhead will close all lines on Sunday.

This will affect Southern Services between London Victoria and Dorking via Mitcham Junction.

On Sunday, there will be a replacement bus service running between Sutton and Dorking.

Sunday, December 10 - Buses replace some early morning trains between East Croydon and Selhurst

On Sunday, engineering works taking place between East Croydon and Selhurst will close some lines, affecting Southern services between East Croydon and London Bridge.

As a result, these Southern services will be amended to start from Selhurst:

  • The 6:44am East Croydon to London Bridge service.
  • The 7:14am East Croydon to London Bridge service.
  • The 7:45am East Croydon to London Bridge service.

A replacement bus service will run from East Croydon to Selhurst, however Southern are advising that these buses will not connect passengers with the amended train services.

Instead, customers travelling to stations between Selhurst and London Bridge are advised to travel via alternative services.
