Southeastern has said that Storm Ciaran will cause “severe disruption” to services today and has warned passengers not to travel.

It was strongly advised that passengers do not travel to “mainline” routes before at least 9am.

The line between Ramsgate and Margate is currently blocked.

The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for London today (Thursday, November 2) as Storm Ciaran is reaches to the UK.

The yellow warning for rain and wind will last until 11.59pm tonight.

As a result of heavy rain, the Met Office has said that there is likely to be flooding across the city today.

From 3am until 1pm, the Met Office has issued an Amber warning for wind.

The forecaster warned that very strong north-westerly winds could disrupt travel and cause structural damage to buildings while flying debris could bring a danger to life.

Roads and bridges may also close while trains and planes are at risk of delays.
