A woman is in a 'serious but stable' condition five days after a hit-and-run crash in Plumstead. 

The incident between a motorbike and a pedestrian happened in Maxey Road shortly after 10pm on October 19.

Police and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found the pedestrian, a woman, injured.

The 23-year-old was initially taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police confirmed today (October 24) that she is in a serious but stable condition.

The rider of the motorbike left the scene on foot before the arrival of police.

No arrests have been made following the incident.

Maxey Road was closed as the incident was dealt with, but it has since reopened.
