The Prince Albert in Bexleyheath, previously known as The Pots and Pans, has become a beloved establishment in the local community and offers pints from Britian’s oldest brewery.

The historical venue was built in 1851 and is located directly across from the delta Marriott hotel and the council offices on the Broadway.

As Britain's oldest brewery dating back to 1698, Shepherd Neame is the exclusive provider of beer at the pub and offers a wide selection

The Prince Albert also offers its own unique brew, Alberts Lager, which is specially made by the brewery exclusively for the premises.

The friendly faces behind The Prince Albert are Phil and Zoë, a couple who have dedicated their lives to the pub industry since their days as bar staff at the age of 18.

Zoë, with her expertise and creativity, is the mastermind behind the food offerings, ensuring that each plate is a work of art.

Phil, on the other hand, is the beer and sports aficionado, responsible for curating an atmosphere that attracts fans with six screens broadcasting live sporting events from Sky and BT Sport.

Phil told the News Shopper: “We like to think The Prince Albert is a pub for the local area.

“If you just want to stop by for a quick drink or want to meet up with family or friends and have a bite to eat - We have got it covered.

“Our aim is that hopefully you enjoy your time and come back again and again.”

When they first took over, the pub underwent a three-month renovation plan in January 2020 to give it a fresh look while still preserving its old charm.

Unfortunately, their planned reopening was thwarted by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and they were only able to open their doors when regulations allowed but they were excited to welcome back customers to their newly done up venue.

The Prince Albert decided to introduce a menu centred around sharing and barbeque and invested in an American Texas Offset Smoker, which now serves as the primary method of cooking for 90 per cent of their menu.

Hearty dishes such as beef short rib, pig shots, Texas Twinkies, brisket, dino eggs, and one-of-a-kind turkey have become regular features on their menu.

The Prince Albert has introduced daily deals such as BOGOF pizza on Mondays, Taco Tuesdays, Wing Wednesdays, Tomahawk Thursdays, Fish Fridays, Smash Burger Saturdays, and Smoking Sundays.

These special promotions are addition to their famous and well-loved roasts, which garnered a reputation throughout the past winter, but the Sunday board is currently on hold for the summer and it will return during the August bank holiday weekend.

The pub's second floor can be rented for private functions free of charge.

Alongside hosting their own events, The Prince Albert has various summer parties planned, including a BBQ Bottomless Brunch featuring meat from their smoker, accompanied by lively DJ sets and solo performances on the outdoor decking area.

Two integral members of The Prince Albert team are George and Alex who have been working at the pub the longest out of the team.

Both are described as "the life of the party", George revels in brunches, while Alex eagerly participates in every aspect of pub life, even being slimed for charity last September.

They actively organize charity events and have previously raised funds for Prostate Cancer and Breast Cancer.
