In the upcoming months, thousands of runners will come to London to take part in the London Marathon.

Many will be preparing to take on the famous route whilst raising thousands of pounds for charities.

Last year, the marathon took place later than its normal scheduled time of April, occurring in October due to the knock-on effect caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

But now, the London Marathon is returning to its spring date and is only a few weeks away.

When is the London Marathon 2023?

The 2023 London Marathon will take place in April as Mr Brasher announced: "we will return to our traditional slot in the calendar in 2023, when the TCS London Marathon will take place on Sunday 23 April.”

The marathon is set to kick off at 9.30am and will last all day across the capital.

Ballots for the marathon have now closed but if you want to take part you can still do so with a charity place or enter the virtual London Marathon.

You can find out more information via the London Marathon website.
