Around 35 firefighters and five fire engines have flocked to the scene of a fire in a flat on the 10thfloor of a block in Bromley.

Just after 10am, crews from Bromley, Orpington and Beckenham fire stations were called to the scene in Turpington Lane.

Half of a four-roomed flat was damaged by the blaze.

London Fire Brigade confirmed that there were no reports of any injuries.

The fire was under control by 10:43am and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Five fire engines and around 35 firefighters tackled a flat fire on Turpington Lane in Bromley this morning.

“Half of a four-roomed flat on the 10th floor of a residential block was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.

“The Brigade was called at 1002 and the fire was under control by 1043. Fire crews from Bromley, Orpington and Beckenham fire stations attended the scene.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation”.
