A MAN has been arrested after 10 wraps of suspected cocaine were found stuffed in a sock in Dartford

Officers were alerted to a suspicious vehicle in Franklin Road at 6pm on October 3.  

An officer witnessed an object being thrown out from the window of a car before it was flagged down.

After the driver stopped, an officer went to look around Pinewood Place to see what the thrown object was.  

Police say a sock was found which was stuffed with white powder. 

Officers spoke to the driver and conducted a search of the car. 

They reportedly seized three mobile phones, a quantity of cash, and another sock, which was similar to the one found on the road.  

A 19-year-old man from Longfield was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.  

He has since been released pending further police enquiries. 

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “A sock containing ten wraps of suspected cocaine was found in Pinewood Place, Dartford, which officers believe was thrown from a car window. 

“At around 6pm on Monday 3 October 2022 patrols from Kent Police and the Metropolitan Police were in the area when they were alerted to a suspicious vehicle and it was flagged down.  

“One of the officers witnessed something being thrown from the car before the driver stopped in Franklin Road. 

“One PC went to look around Pinewood Place to see what the object was and found a sock stuffed with white powder.  

“Officers in Franklin Road spoke to the driver and searched the car. They seized three mobile phones and a quantity of cash.  

“Another sock, like the one found containing drugs, was also located in the car. 

“A 19-year-old man from Longfield was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.  

“He has since been released pending further enquiries.”
