Readers share tributes to loved ones lost to Covid pandemic

Sadly, the pandemic, which has changed lives so drastically, is far from over, with chief medical officer Professor Chris Whitty bracing the country for “a lot more deaths over the next few weeks before the effects of the vaccines begin to be felt”.

London's own death toll surpassed 10,000 earlier this month, with many of those taking place in south east London. 

We asked you, the readers, to share stories of loved ones lost.

My amazing fiances Jim Russell's life was cut short at only 51 on May 4 2020 to this horrible virus.

He was an very loving fiance and Stepdad to us and was a true gentleman.

We had so many plans for our future, just set up our own business in February, would have married in the summer and we had a plan to move abroad 2024, all been taken from us.

I love and miss Jim so much words cant ever express the pain and nightmare I am going through. We all miss you live from Connie, Shannon, Rhiannon and honey.

Having 8 family members sick with COVID, Alan’s lungs were ravished by the deadly virus.

Alan was a man with strong conviction, full of love, joy and graciousness.

He gave all he had to everyone. He was my Prince Charming.

Not a day goes by that I am not consumed with his loss, the void and the reality that’s bestowed on me.

Who lost her partner Michael Coffey (Mick) their dad and grandad back on 28th March 2020.

He has left such a gaping hole in his loving family. He will be missed and remembered by family and friends alike.

May his memories keep them strong in their time of grief. It will soon be his 1st anniversary and it's going to hit them all hard.
