Judges have been kept busy with south-east London and north Kent criminals already this year.
From drug dealers to acid attackers, many dangerous people were put behind bars in January.
These are the most significant cases last month for people who were jailed.
- Mohammed Hashi
Hashi was sentenced to six years' jail time following a drug bust at his home.
Police officers from Greenwich gangs unit discovered "sums of cash and Class A drugs" at the 21-year-old's home in John Wilson Street during the raid on July 3 last year.
He was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on January 4, having been found guilty of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
- Julian Harvey-Bernard
He splashed ammonia in the faces of two shop workers at Lewisham Shopping Centre in December 2016.
He was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court to three years in prison.
- Ian Hendrie
Hendrie told a social worker he had built bombs in a "cry for help".
Hendrie was sentenced on January 10 to 22 months behind bars for a hoax bomb threat. He had also been charged with five counts of assaulting a police officer, and two counts of criminal damage.
- Arthur Collins
The 25-year-old was sentenced to a further eight months, on top of the 20 years he had already been handed for an acid attack in Dalston.
Collins said he smuggled the device into the high-security jail in Thamesmead so he could call his pregnant girlfriend, ex-Towie star Ferne McCann.
- Kofi Francis
This gang leader kidnapped and tortured a man wrongly suspected of stealing £40,000-worth of drugs.
The 23-year-old led a gang who abducted the 22-year-old man at knifepoint in Plumstead in April.
The victim's ordeal came to an end through pure good fortune when the Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance helicopter flew over the fields he was being tortured in, testing its search light ahead of a response to an unrelated crash a mile away.
Francis was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on January 26 to 14 years in jail.
- Shahan Ali
Ali was jailed for seven-and-a-half years at Woolwich Crown Court on January 26 for two counts of sexual assault.
He attacked two lone 19-year-old women after jumping off mopeds.
- Dapo Obadare
Officers found uncovered wraps of cocaine and a 4.5 gram lump of heroin when he was searched.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply, before being sentenced to five years in jail.
- Charlie and Shaun Howard
Shaun Howard, aged 55, and Charlie Howard, aged 21, both of Belvedere, were jailed for a total of eight years following the robbery in Sittingbourne.
The pair approached the driver of a cash transit van and pushed from behind with them taking the security box.
- Razak Osomo
Osomo was masked when he approached two men with a large blade in September and repeatedly stabbed one of them.
He was arrested near the scene and was caught with a nine-inch hunting knife, a six-inch lock knife and a balaclava.
