A Woolwich man has been sentenced to six years jail time following a drug bust at his home.

Police officers from Greenwich Gangs Unit discovered ‘sums of cash and Class A drugs’ at 21-year-old Mohammed Hashi's home in John Wilson Street during the raid on July 3 last year.

Officers had witnessed Hashi discard a small drugs parcel as they entered the property.

Hashi was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday (January 4), having been found guilty of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Detective Constable Husna Nessa, the investigating officer from Greenwich’s Violent and Organised Crime Unit, said: "Drug dealing and gang activity is an issue that disrupts many communities and affects lives.

"On this occasion, we were able to target known gang members and disrupt their operation with a great result.

"We remain committed to apprehending those who seek to use and deal drugs in Woolwich and beyond."
