We’ve rounded up all of the Bromley restaurants that have won awards this year and why they won.

A number of Bromley’s restaurants have celebrated huge successes this year after winning at national and local awards - from Indian restaurants to chippies.

Chapter One, Orpington

Chapter One in Orpington has been in business since 1988, serving modern European cuisine along with a cocktail menu and selected wine list.

Owned by Marcel Faulstich and Andrew McLeish, the restaurant is a popular spot amongst celebrities, according to the two owners.

The restaurant was one of two in south London that was named in the OpenTable Top 100 Romantic Restaurants for 2023.

The Bombay Restaurant, Orpington

Address: 74-76 High Street, Green Street Green, Orpington, BR6 6BJ

Monday to Thursday 12pm - 3pm and 6pm - 11pm

Friday & Saturday 12pm - 3pm and 6pm - midnight

Sunday 12:30pm - 3pm and 6pm - 11pm

The Bombay Restaurant in Orpington is a family-run restaurant which has been in business since 1984.

This year the restaurant has won three awards including Best Restaurant at the British Bengal Curry Awards, Best Restaurant at the Curry Life Awards and Best Restaurant for London Suburbs at the Asian Curry Awards.

iNaga, West Wickham

Monday to Saturday 5pm - 11pm

Sunday 2pm - 10pm

iNaga in West Wickham’s chef Nanu Miah won the award for Best Chef at the Asian Curry Awards 2023.

The restaurant offers guests authentic Bangladeshi food and also has a well-stocked bar serving a range of Indian beers and alcoholic beverages.

Indian Essence, Petts Wood

Indian Essence in Petts Wood received a Highly Commended award for London at the Asian Curry Awards 2023.

The restaurant offers traditional Indian cuisine featuring “inventive” touches provided by chef Atul Kochhar, with menus ranging from a la carte to tasting selections.

Mountain View, Chislehurst

Mountain View in Chislehurst was named National Best Restaurant at the Curry Life Awards 2023.

Originally opened 17 years ago in Chislehurst High Street by Nepalese-born owner Dashu Pandey, the restaurant serves a range of authentic Nepalese dishes.

The restaurant offers seating for 100 people, serving a range of dishes from classics like Chicken Tikka Masala to house specials like Hariyali Lamb.

Panas Gurkha, Chislehurst

Panas Gurkha in Chislehurst won the Newcomer of the Year award at the Asian Curry Awards 2023.

The restaurant first opened its doors in 2022 serving homestyle Nepali cuisine to diners, with their most popular dish being their Mum’s Chicken Curry, inspired by a recipe made by restaurant owner Sujan Katuwal’s mother.

The restaurant serves authentic Nepalese cuisine made by Michelin Star-trained head chef Ram Paudal.

Penge Masala, Penge

Penge Masala won the award for Best Indian Restaurant in South London at the Euro Asia Curry Awards 2023.

Penge Masala offers Indian food prepared by their celebrity chef with over 20 years of experience.

The restaurant serves Indo-Bangladeshi food inspired by the two regions.

Ollie Polly Play Café, Bromley

Olie Polly Play Café was named winner of Best Business: High Street at the Above and Beyond Bromley Business Awards (ABBBA’s)

The café serves a full breakfast and lunch menu offering a range of options to suit different dietary needs such as gluten free options.

The restaurant is also available to hire to host birthday parties for children under the age of five.

The Village Fish and Chips in Petts Wood has this year won two national awards, including the Fry Awards list for the UK’s 50 Best Fish and Chip Takeaways and the Good Food Awards list for the category of Fish and Chips.

The shop is owned by husband and wife duo Serena and Andy Pybus, who have been running the business for over 15 years.
