On the 11th of November  our school Bromley High School took part in the two minutes of silence for Remembrance Day more commonly known as  Armistice Day this specific day
marks the day World War One ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, back in 1918.The two-minute silence is held at 11am to remember the people who have died in the world wars it is for us to think about what all the serving members had to do for us to make our lives how it is today the privileges and advantages we have due to what we were given and the position we have been put in as a country and unity.
Each form group had to retrieve a poppy to be worn in our Blazers.
At the start of the event We were then led in our forms to the school roundabout filled with lovely plants and flowers one of which were poppies.Amongst the front of the  roundabout were children from as little as 4 to 12 from the lower school of Bromley high surrounding the members of the junior school were the senior school up to six form .Lastly we were all surrounded by the the teachers within the school.By the time we were all still the senior orchestra played a tradition war piece, the clock had struck 11 am and the trumpet was blown we all broke in silence, more silent than I'd ever heard.Once the 2 minutes of silence was over the head mistress Mrs drew  presented a short speech reminding us of why we were stood there that time and day.Once the speech was over a poppy reef was layer by Mrs Drew the head Mrs Jenner our English/drama teacher and the head girl.Pictures were taken of us looking very smart by the school photographer.
This day will always be a significant day in the Callander and this is how my school Bromley High pays respect to the day.
