Joe Ledley is expecting a difficult game against high-flying Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Ledley scored the only goal of the game when the sides last met in February, sparking a run of six wins in nine league games for the Eagles.

But the Wales international warned that this season’s fixture would be a more difficult game for both sides.

“I think they’ll learn from last season and they’ll have more experience in the league just like ourselves,” Ledley said.

“Every year we’re getting stronger and stronger, and Leicester have got some good players.

“From that [win] we kicked on and stayed up and went on and got in the top half.

“It’s going to be a very difficult game, we know that it’s going to be hostile.”

Only a point separates Palace in sixth and fifth-placed Leicester, who have only lost one game all season.

Striker Jamie Vardy is the Premier League’s top scorer with nine goals, and Ledley believes the Leicester striker deserves his place in the England squad.

“That’s why he’s playing for England and playing at the highest level, and starting as well,” the 28-year-old said.

“Considering they’ve got the players they do for him to be starting really sums him up.”
