Saturday's home win against Swindon Town wasn't so much kicking away a blind man's stick - more kicking away his stick, stealing his guide dog and directing him towards oncoming traffic.

So utterly one-sided was the victory at The Den, I came away feeling a tad disappointed that the winning margin wasn't greater.

A quick glance at the match stats highlights just how dominant The Lions' were: nine corners, twenty attempts at goal, ten on target.

To say the scoreline could have been double figures is not an exaggeration.

And it probably would have been were it not for some lacklustre finishing, the woodwork and visiting 'keeper, Lawrence Vigouroux.

It was hard not to feel a little sorry for the 500 or so travelling supporters from Wiltshire, as they watched their team get opened up time and time again.

Had this been a boxing match, the towel would have been thrown in long before the final whistle.

As has become customary after a loss to Millwall, boss Mark Cooper was swiftly relieved of his duties after the game.

News Shopper:

In fact, Cooper joins an illustrious alumni, alongside Sven-Goran Eriksson, George Burley, Stuart Pearce and Sami Hyypia – all managers whose clubs saw defeat to The Lions as the final straw.

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I still get a warm, fuzzy feeling inside when it happens.

As for us? Well, the home form is beginning to look how it should.

MORE: Harris hails dominant Lions

Three wins out of the last three in all competitions is pleasing.

Aiden O'Brien looks a real talent, adding to his goal tally at the weekend.

All the pre-season hype surrounding Fred Onyedinma meant the young Irishman's progression to the starting XI went a little under the radar.

And while Fred clearly has a bright future, the emergence of O'Brien as a genuine attacking threat has been a welcome addition to the squad.

Admittedly, we still look a bit thin on the ground, especially now Jimmy Abdou and Ed Upson are out for a couple of months.

Neil Harris moved quickly for George Saville, who looks settled already and has a bit of quality about him.

News Shopper:

After Tuesday’s 1-1 draw away at Blackpool, Harris may be forced back into the loan market.

Carlos Edwards’ red card and an injury to Shaun Williams are big blows, so it will be interesting to see how the team cope over the next few weeks.

This weekend’s trip to Sheffield United will be a test – I'll be honest, going up to Bramall Lane without several key players doesn't fill me with confidence, but there’s no need to worry.

You can see what Harris is trying to build and slowly but surely, it's getting there.

I was disappointed we only scored two against Swindon and I was a bit miffed at picking up a point last night.

How long has it been since any of us felt like that, eh?
