Editor Andrew Parkes has gone deep under cover on a story he claims is so big it makes the Watergate look like a speeding fine*, so this week’s five thoughts come from the mind of Leisure Editor Jim Palmer.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Sir Roger Moore was the latest celeb to support our 50th anniversary (there’s lots going on – treasure hunt on February 21 etc.) We’ve hardly mentioned it.

A suggestion on the web that we had access to a waxwork Sir Rog amused me. If only. How would we even get one? And, believe me, there’s better things we could do than pose it with a paper. Suggestions welcome.

News Shopper: Mick Jagger is about to celebrate his 65th birthday

If anyone has a waxwork of Mick Jagger, can we borrow it please?

Some buffoon told me they think the film Whiplash is ‘one of the worst films I’ve ever seen’. It’s all subjective, of course, but she’s wrong. It’s incredible, just as the 5* review in Vibe a few weeks ago said. On the plus side, at least Becca got to see the film in the comfort of the awesome Greenwich Picturehouse (read about its great new cafe/bar here)

News Shopper: VENUE OF CHOICE: Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh leave Westminster Abbey following their marriage ceremony on November 20, 1947.

Some of the ladies in the office have been looking at old pictures of the Queen and noting what a great figure she had. Maybe I’m too young, but I’d never thought of Her Maj' in that way. Some suggestion it’s treason? It can’t be, surely. It’s a compliment. Write in if you fancied Liz...

Last week’s front page advert in some editions, ‘#Who is Muhammad?’, caused a bit of a fuss.

Not that I have any sway over these decisions, but here’s my take and thoughts on some of the accusations: no, we do not support terrorism, we will never print bomb-making guides and we don’t condone rape.

The message promoted peace and tolerance. Ironic how it was received in some quarters. And yes, we would carry similar adverts for other religions.
