June 7, 2001 11:36: THE organisers of the Eurobet Middlesex Charity Sevens,

sponsored by bookmaking firm Coral, is calling on News Shopper rugby fans across the region to help celebrate the event's 75th anniversary, by submitting their favourite photos of England's oldest Sevens festival.

They are looking for one very special photo two are depicted here as examples which encapsulates the unique spirit of the Middlesex Sevens from 1926 through to the present day.

The sender of the winning photo, as chosen by the selection panel, will toss the coin before the final game as part of a fantastic VIP day out for six at this year's event in August.

"As this is our 75th anniversary, we want to capture as many images of the Sevens before they are lost forever", said Charles Hogbin, chairman of the Middlesex Sevens' committee.

"Whether it's action shots on the pitch, a streaker, or a bunch of rugby fans dressed up as aliens, we are keen to receive pictures from News Shopper readers.

"We'd like to post some of the entries on our website and, perhaps display some of the best pictures in the

Museum of Rugby at Twickenham."

The winning entry will receive a VIP day out for six on August 18 at Twickenham an everyone who

submits and entry will receive a pair of tickets to one of the sport's truly great days.

Hogbin added: "We have invited only elite club teams, so the competition is evenly matched and Blackheath, a club steeped in tradition, who performed marvellously to qualify, will carry the local colours.

"We're looking forward to cele-brating our 75th anniversary by watching some great rugby, having a good party, as well as raising money for charity and rugby at youth level."

The VIP day out for six at Twickenham will include: tossing the coin before the final; hospitality seating; complimentary three-course lunch, and a signed match-ball and jersey from the winning team of this year's event.

All entries should include your name, address and daytime telephone number on the back of the photo.

Please include the year it was taken and details of whatever is applicable and the winning entry will be chosen by the panel on July 1.

As the Middlesex Sevens is a registered charity, please include a stamped stamped addressed envelope if you would like your photograph's returned.
