A murder investigation has been launched after a 17-year-old died in a car crash in Brockley.

The father of Nassem Galleze has said he is “numb with pain” after the teenager died last Saturday (September 26) in St Norbert Road.

A post-mortem gave the cause of death as multiple injuries.

Nassem, from Roundtable road in Grove Park, was travelling with two others in a green Vauxhall corsa when a lump of concrete was launched at the car.

This caused the car to plough into a lamppost as it headed towards Loampit Vale.

“Our beloved Nassem's life has been brutally ended and my family are devastated.

"People will have seen what happened and they will have heard things; you might be thinking do I talk to the police?

“Take a look at the car where my son died and you know there's only one thing to do for Nassem and our family. Please assist the police."

Officers were initially called to reports of a fight on St Nortbert Street just after 3pm.

Just before the incident the car, in which Nassem was the rear passenger, was driving in the Turnham Estate when it came under attack.

As the car left the estate the block of concrete was thrown at the car, smashing the windscreen.

The suspects scattered, but several passers-by rushed to Nassem’s aid.

He was taken to hospital where he later died.

The other two occupants suffered minor injuries.

Four men aged 19, 20, 21 and 23 were arrested on Sunday (September 27) in connection with the investigation.

They have been bailed.
