A teenager from Swanscombe is to appear in court following a car crash in Farningham which killed two musicians.

Michael Morris, 19, of Broad Road, has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and four counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The crash happened on the A20 in Eglantine Lane, Farningham, at 1.20am on April 29.

Mike Crampton and his friend James Montegriffo, both in their 20s, died in the crash.

Mr Crampton played keyboard for the Dartford ska-punk band The Pisdicables.

A statement on the band’s Facebook page ath the time said: “Our keys player and best friend Mike Crampton tragically lost his life in a car accident in the early hours of yesterday morning along with his friend James Montegriffo.

“I can’t even begin to tell you how much we are hurting right now. We have lost our brother, an incredible and unique human who will be irreplaceable to everyone who was lucky enough to know him.”

Mr Crampton's family said in a statement: "Michael was a loving son, an incredible brother and the best friend that anybody could have. There are no words to encapsulate the sheer joy and happiness Michael brought to so many."

Morris has been summonsed to appear before Mid Kent Magistrates’ Court on December 15.
