Hula hooping is the new fitness craze from the States to hit the UK.
With health and fitness being one of the key incentives and target areas promoted by the government hula hooping is a great form of keeping fit.
Most people associate hula hooping with being at school playing with a hoop in the playground but now adults and children alike all over the country are reviving this craze.
The difference now is that the hoops are larger and weighted, which is what give you that all- over cardio workout.
Adults and children alike enjoy it as they learn new tricks with the hoop, from the basic hooping around the waist, to the hips and the knees to name a few.
Hula hooping is said to burn up to 100 calories in 10 minutes. Hula hooping, also known as hooping, works up to 35 core muscles, improves stamina, develops balance, co-ordination and relieves stress as it promotes laughter.
If all that has not got your curiosity going why not try it for yourself?
I hate exercise but found that hooping was so much fun. I started hooping about a year ago and travelled to north London for hula hooping classes.
As I enjoyed it so much I decided to become a qualified instructor myself.
I am currently running classes at Telegraph Hill Centre, Kitto Road, New Cross, on a Thursday at 8pm.
