Footage has emerged showing a gang of motorcyclists blocking a road by pulling wheelies and riding over a busy roundabout in Belvedere.

The group of about 20 riders had “near misses” with several cars while speeding through the streets on Saturday night, witnesses said.

Jawad Muhammad, 26, filmed the chaotic scene and said some of the bikers were not even wearing helmets.

The clip shows two riders pulling wheelies as they approach the roundabout while another mounts the kerb beside Mr Muhammad's car.

They are then seen mounting the grassy roundabout before disappearing down the opposite exit off Picardy Manorway.

Mr Muhammad, from Plumstead, said: “This was a terrible thing to see.

"There were multiple near misses with motorists who had to be aware of what was happening. It was very dangerous and a few of them weren’t even wearing helmets.

“These motorcyclists need to look out for family and friends - they are careless but not the only ones who will suffer if they get badly injured.”

Mr Muhammad was behind the pack for three minutes while driving back from a friend’s house.

Last month another clip emerged showing "idiot" bikers speeding through Erith towards Dartford, pulling wheelies on the pavement and ignoring red lights.

Councillor Stefano Borella, ward councillor for Northend Ward, said on Twitter: "These are just idiots risking others and themselves, hope they get caught soon."
