A manhunt is under way after a toddler was threatened at knifepoint in a series of “terrifying”  linked robberies in Bromley.

The first robbery took place on Wednesday, August 16 at about 10.30pm when three 17-year-old girls were approached in Churchill Gardens.

The suspect asked for the time and they tried to ignore him but he followed them to Grassmill Lane, threatened them with a knife and robbed them of their mobile phones and cash.

Afterwards, he went towards Shortlands train station.

On August 26 at about 6.50pm, a man approached a woman in her 30s and her three-year-old daughter in gardens by Bromley Parish Church.

He threatened to kill the child if she did not hand over her phone. She complied.

On August 31 at about 9.40pm, a 37-year-old woman was pushed from behind to the ground and hit over the head during the assault in an alleyway off Ravensbourne Road, by a man who stole her bag.

Bromley police believe that the incidents are linked and want the public's help in identifying the suspect. He is described as a black man in his 20s, of slim build, and around 6ft tall with short hair.

DC Chris Day from Bromley borough said: “These were terrifying robberies where the suspect targeted woman, even threatening a child.

“We need to trace the person responsible, and would urge anyone with information about these incidents or a potential suspect to get in touch with us.”

There have been no arrests.
