How to Keep Happy

Coronavirus is what all the world can only think about. Everything on the news is just about the disease. Everything else has been put on hold such as the London Marathon, the Olympics and even your Easter holidays. However, what is important during this period is making sure your mental health is on top.

Coronavirus is causing a lot of anxiety to many people around the world. Some people are worried about how it may affect their lives in the near future, some about their health and some are scared that they might run out of money. This is a stressful time but with the right care, it is possible to persevere.

One tip that may help you during this time is to stay connected with your friends and family. Even though we can’t go out and meet friends there are many alternatives to catch up with friends. You can plan to facetime each other, call your friends or even text them. You can plan to watch something together and comment on your thoughts there are apps such as ‘Netflix Party’ where you can do this. There will always be someone to speak to if you have any worries and they can give you advice on how to cope during this period.

Since mostly everyone has a lot of free time now watch that show you’ve been meaning to watch. There are probably many things that you’ve wanted to do but haven’t had time to do it yet so now is the time. You can try baking or cooking something new or read a book that you really want to read. There is something out there you’ve been wanting to do so do it now (given that you can do it indoors) it will take your mind off this period and keep you happy.

There are many other things that you can do so if you ever start to feel bored be sure to do one of these things. Also, make sure you practise all the advice given by the government and take care when reading information about COVID-19 as not everything out on the internet is true.
