No praise, Just help-Hannah Sterling LPGS

I don’t feel the necessity to introduce what I’m writing about today, you know.

You know from the screens, the radio, your eyes and your ears what is currently occurring. Commonly one would say “You can’t help it.” However, that is completely incorrect in this situation.

We as a greater London community can do our bit, regardless of our individual circumstances, we can all do something or other to help the vulnerable. Yes okay, I’ll admit there are a few things that are out of our control, we can’t prevent those already in care from dying, we can’t save our health workers but that is the duty of our government.

The duty of us people, the general public, is to stay at home. Simple, sublimely simple. Not only that, wash your hands. Another basic task. We are allowed to go outside for exercise, to shop ;with these liberties also comes great duty I feel has failed to have been digressed seriously enough on the news. Not to fearmonger but when you come in from your daily jog, you could potentially be carrying the virus on you! Viruses can be active on the outside of your body for hours, days even! And you know that lovely bar of soap of yours, that thing is a terminator. A little insight: The virus is a nanoparticle which has a fatty bilayer when you wash your hands thoroughly this layer dissolves and the virus falls apart. Who knew soap was that powerful?

So, when you receive shopping: wash your hands. So, when you go out for a run: have shower as soon as you get back indoors, wash your clothes!

Finally, don’t forget, it’s completely fine to feel nervous, upset and depressed during times like these. We’re all struggling some way or another, so support those around you, find a new hobby, learn things and do anything you can to help: you could volunteer at a local supermarket, you could volunteer for the NHS, you could donate food and many many more. Let’s come together and before we know it we’ll be back to some formation of normality, embrace the times. After all we’re living history.
