Some of you might be worrying about the Coronavirus Pandemic because we’ve never seen something like this. But fortunately there is plenty of information on what to do during this time. Please follow the steps in this article and you can save lives.

1) Wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water. The best way to prevent the spread of any infection is to wash your hands as often as possible. If it helps you can sing Happy Birthday twice to keep track of time. Remember to lather up on soap.

2) Use hand sanitizers with over 60% alcohol. If you’re in a rush or simply don’t have a bathroom near by you can always use hand sanitizers. However they have to be over 60% alcohol otherwise they are not effective.

3) Keep your hands away from your face. You could touch a surface that has the disease on and if you don’t wash your hands afterwards and then touch your face you are infecting yourself.

4) Disinfect areas that are more likely to come in contact with the virus daily. Surfaces like door handles, counter tops and sinks are more likely to have the virus linger. You can disinfect with wipes or bleach sprays or you can make your own but make sure everything is clean!

5) Stay home! At the moment we all want to go out with our friends and enjoy ourselves but it is vital we have self control and do not leave our homes. By staying at home you are literally saving so many people’s lives. Also there are plenty of fun things to do at home. See this video for some fun ideas: https://youtu.be/o0NJhJ8nwTk 6) Call your doctor If you suspect you have Coronavirus. If you have a fever, continuous cough or shortness of breath, you should stay home and get in contact with your doctor. If you are experiencing severe symptoms seek immediate medical attention.

7) Try not to listen to the rumours. There is no need to stockpile food or toilet paper. Don’t listen to the myths that circle the internet.According to the World Health Organisation no specific foods can prevent Covid-19 and you cannot get it from mail from China. Also there is no connection to Asian people so don’t be racially abusive and treat everyone with respect.

The new Pandemic can be worrying for a lot of people especially those who are or have loved ones in the high risk categories but we must remember that if we stick together and follow all the precautions this will be over before we know it. Although we can’t hang out with our friends now if we all stay at home we can have an amazing summer! So stay home!
