Keen author, AJ Fogden is publishing her first book, “This Lighter Realm” age just 14. The fantasy novel “This Lighter Realm” from Grosvenor House publishing is due to be released later next month. Annie is “very excited and looking forward to hearing people’s opinions on the book” which is set in World War One and is a magical journey exploring how power, evil and goodness all come down to love.

“This Lighter Realm” follows Evanie Harley, a young woman desperate to hear from her soldier brother, as she is transported to a new world where the siblings discover “the power they never knew they held”.

When I spoke to her about her upcoming novel she told me, “When I first started writing the book, a lot of the key elements weren’t involved and my friends and family helped me to realise that the book needed developing”. Annie has been writing from a very young age and has been surrounded by words and literature her whole life and has many works in progress outside her debut novel. She told me that “as I became more mature the books matured with me”. On her website – ajfogden.co.uk – Annie says “I have always loved and cherished writing…I wrote my first story at six years old.”

Annie is amongst some of the youngest published authors in history at age 14 and hopes to continue writing in the future. She is an avid reader and has always especially enjoyed reading Historical fiction and fantasy. Some of the authors Annie finds most inspirational are; Rebecca Ross, Jane Austen, William Shakespeare, C.S. Lewis, Keira Cass and Charlotte Bronte. She is a great famn of the Harry Potter, Selection and Hunger Games series.

The novel will be available to purchase this November from Waterstones and Amazon and along with the headteacher of her school, Annie is planning a book release and signing in the library once it is released. Annie has the support of all her teachers and friends who cannot wait to read her story in full.
