Leicester have renewed their interest in Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend.

The Foxes tried to sign Townsend earlier this year, but Palace refused to sell.

Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare knows star man Riyad Mahrez is likely to leave the King Power Stadium after trying to secure a big-money move in the summer.

And Townsend has been touted as an ideal replacement for the Algeria winger.

The Mirror reports that the Eagles could be ready to cash in on Townsend with a striker high on their list of targets.

Both senior strikers Connor Wickham and Christian Benteke are crocked with long-term injuries.

Townsend, 26, has featured nine times for Palace this season. Roy Hodgson’s men are bottom of the Premier League after losing their first seven games.

It is understood that Leicester made a £27m bid for the former Tottenham man in August – and could offer a similar amount in January.
