CAMBRIDGE Harriers youngster Sabrina Sinha-Coe added the U13 girls’ Kent cross country title to her list of honours on Saturday at Wilmington Grammar School.

Sinha-Coe led from start to finish on the 3km course to beat her closest rival by 14 seconds.

Last month she had been denied the southern inter-counties title after being sent the wrong way before eventually finishing second.

Sinha-Coe enjoyed a great 2011, coming first in the London mini marathon for her age group before winning two Kent league races and the London Heathrow Games.

Cambridge Harriers had the chance of a second gold medal of the day at Wilmington in the senior men’s race.

Dean Lacy, the 2010 champion, had been running well all season and was unbeaten in all three Kent league races, as well as having won the London cross country championship in December.

However, Lacy had to settle for silver as the defending champion John Gilbert of Kent AC proved to be the better athlete on the day by running a fantastic race to retain his crown.

It was a great return to cross country for Sophie Parks in the U17 women's race.

Concentrating on the shorter distances this year, Parks showed it hasn’t hampered her cross country ability, running a fantastic race to claim the silver medal.
