SHOOTERS Hill were forced to field a depleted side at Old Gravesendians and went down to a 33-17 defeat.

Despite this, they threw everything into the game, with No 8 Dave Viney breaking from a scrum to score.

Helped by a resurgent pack, Viney notched up his 10th try of the season after the restart as he reached over the line.

He was followed by Steve Shingfield, with Peter Dede kicking a conversion.

Shoots held onto fourth place with a hard game against second-placed Vigo away next week.
