BEXLEYHEATH & Belvedere Hockey Club ladies’ first team’s winning run came to an end when they went down to a surprise 4-2 away defeat at Thurrock.
They did start well but Thurrock counter attacked and scored from an early penalty corner.
BBHC captain Sue Moore received a nasty injury to her lip, which put her out of action for part of the game.
The visitors continued to play well and were rewarded with an equaliser from Natalie Lane before the break.
BBHC made a bright start to the second half and took the lead with a cracking effort from Sorcha Crowley.
However, the advantage did not last long as Thurrock were quickly back on terms through a penalty corner.
Some controversial decisions led to two penalty flicks being awarded to Thurrock, both of which were converted to ensure BBHC returned home deflated.
