OLD Colfeians snatched a dramatic late win at Woodford on Saturday, scoring two late tries to overturn a nine-point deficit.

Colfeians were soon in their stride and after a period of pressure, a move which stretched across the pitch released winger Sam Pemberton-Hill who rounded the final Woodford defender for the game's first try.

Alberto Gava converted brilliantly from the touchline.

However, the hosts were a very determined side and came roaring back into the game.

Some weak tackling by OCs and some strong running lines from Woodford led to a good try for the home side right under the posts.

The game then swung both ways but as it reached cthe midway point, a fine break by Andy Rennison was completed by Andy Howard and Colfeians reached half-time in the lead.

But the first half an hour of the second half turned into a horror story for OCs, who started to get pushed around by the home pack and drop balls which seemed easier to catch.

Nothing seemed to be going right and the home side deservedly scored two further tries to establish a nine-point lead.

Finally, however, Colfeians hit their stride and after a well-worked forwards' drive, Danny Gardner claimed the touchdown.

OCs then roared straight back at the home side and centre John Toy scored a great individual try up the touchline.

Any win away from home is welcome, so the OCs were delighted to get this result and now look forward to welcoming third-placed Chingford to Horn Park this Saturday (3pm).
