Week 3 of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance and the only unbeaten teams left are in the First Division.

Bellegrove Social Club have had an amazing start to the season, already winning 11-4 & 13-2, they added a 12-3 defeat of Kings Arms to increase their lead at the top of the table to 8 points.

New boys Leather Bottle have also made a good start, remaining unbeaten with a 9-6 win against fellow newcomers Life of Riley’s. Alan Enever was the star of the night winning his 3 frames and Paul Thomas was close behind with a brilliant 7baller.

Paul Williams was easily man of the match for the only other unbeaten side Erith Snooker Master 8’ers in their 10-5 victory over Beechtree Nuthouse. His 3 out of 3 included an excellent break and dish in his second frame. Craig Jones also managed a maximum for the Nuthouse.

It must have been a night for 7ballers in this division as Scott Shephard continued his unbeaten run to 8 games with a total clearance in the White Hart’s 9-6 defeat away to Our Lady of the Rosary. Ian Cruwys also weighed in with 2 out of 2 for the away side making him unbeaten in 5.

In the division’s remaining game New Eltham Social Club edged a close game 8-7 away to Running Horses.

Results this week have thrown the SLKPA’s Premier Division wide open with everyone beating everyone and only 9 points separating top from bottom.

The Pickwick went back to the top with their 9-6 home victory against Coach & Horses with the help of Dean James 3 out of 3. Rod Altes managed the same feat for the away team.

One record had to go with the 2 winless teams at the bottom, Fox under the Hill and Riley’s Rovers meeting at Woolwich Riley’s. Darren Porter and Ryan Francis played well for the home team winning 3 out of 3 and 2 out of 2 respectively with the Fox’s Simon Evans matching Porter. The game went to a final frame decider that neither player appeared to want to win with plenty of pots going awry but eventually Geoff Evans took it for Rovers. Alas it was not enough to lift them off the bottom remaining 1 point behind their opponents.

A solid team performance by Riley’s Lewisham lead to an 8-7 win against their neighbours Hotshots despite Lee Bushell and Mark Ramsay winning all of their frames.

Last week’s top 2 both saw their unbeaten records broken with the Rack Pack beaten at home by O’Connors 5-10 and George Covington’s 3 out of 3 for the second week running couldn’t prevent the Eardley Arms losing 8-7 at Greenwich Town Social Club.
