LONDON Street Warriors are still struggle in the Eastern Skater Hockey Association (ESHA) youth league although they came within two minutes of ending a run of defeats.

Thanks to an Ashaan Bousquet hat-trick and a Sab Deol strike, the Warriors were leading second from bottom Borehamwood Saints 4-3.

However, Saints came back to win 5-4 leaving Warriors four points adrift at the bottom of the league with just two matches remaining.

Deol, playing his second game of the day, opened the scoring after being set up by Parris Moore and the Warriors were nearly 2-0 ahead when Callum Murray went close.

Saints equalised but Bousquet restored the lead Deol's neat pass.

Some defensive sloppiness allowed Saints back again and the first period ended all square.

Arron Stewart and George Smith opened the second session with good long-range efforts and Murray went close on a powerplay.

The Warriors trailed for the first time early in the third but a shot from Bousquet leveled the scores.

Moments later Stewart's shot rebounded into the path of Bousquet who fired in his third.

Warriors let the lead slip and two goals in the final two minutes meant they came away empty handed from a game they deserved to win.

In the senior ESHA league, Warriors are two points off the top having lost only once, to top side Borehamwood Crusaders.

However, they have the accolade of being the only team all four ESHA leagues to have scored 100 goals.

With just two games remaining they are praying Crusaders slip up.

Life in the ESHA junior league is misleading as Warriors are level on points at the top but their rivals, Basildon Alstarz, have two games in hand.

The Pee Wees put poor early form behind them and now lie third, one point off second place.
