Women are flocking to Dartford Golf Club to enrol in the newly-introduced Ladies Masters Golfer, the innovation of a highly-successful company which initiated the Young Masters Golfer.

John Gregrory, the head professional at Dartford, said: "The YMG was aimed at children aged from six to 11 to cover all aspects of the game, including how to play, rules and etiquette, enabling them to enjoy the sport to its fullest.

"This encouraged thousands of youngsters to start playing golf.

"Ladies golf is the fastest growing area within the sport, and the new course is structured similarly to the YMG, but aimed specifically at women.

"There are six categories, split into three pairs of modules silver, gold and Platinum, each with two levels.

"The early sessions will cover the basics from how to grip the club and set up the ball, and what certain parts of the golf course are called, helping the new player to feel at ease in a golf-course environment, moving on to swinging the club, hitting with the various clubs in the bag, together with chipping, putting and bunker shots.

"Initially, we are are finding these lessons are being booked by beginners or the newest player wishing to start the game and gain important knowledge before venturing out on to the golf course.

"But as the experienced lady golfers see the benefits of the structured lessons, we will be introducing a more advanced course."

Gregory added: "These sessions are of 90 minutes in groups of six ladies. You can come as an individual and join others wishing to pair up, or any number up to six, so you and all your lady friends can start to play at the same time.

"Each level consisting of six 90-minute sessions costs £90, which includes all equipment such as clubs and balls, with fully-qualified PGA coaches supervising.

"The next available courses are scheduled to start in mid-April on Mondays and Fridays, but I strongly recommend early booking to ensure a place."
