Week 6 of the winter season of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance brought together two of the main contenders for the MSW Premier Division title at the Pickwick in Charlton.

On a cold damp bonfire night the Pickwick, for whom James Sheed 3/3 and debutant Dwayne Savage 2/2 were exceptional, trounced the previously undefeated Hotshots by 12-3 in frames and have reduced Hotshots lead in this division to 1 point.

Ben Worden’s defeat of England U21 player Adam Coppen was to no avail as Bellegrove Social Club were unlucky to lose by 9-6 in frames to 3rd placed O’Connors A who are 1 point adrift of the Pickwick.

We Anchor in Hope have claimed 4th place following their 9-6 away win at the Fox Under the Hill with Tony Halpin in superb form winning 3/3 and ready for the national finals this weekend.

Riley’s Rovers lost by 8-7 in frames away to O’Connors B despite a valiant effort by Nick Stearns who won both of his frames.

Alex Thompson’s winning 2/2 ensured that New Eltham Social Club held on to beat the King William IV by 8-7 in frames despite Mattie Flockhart’s team’s rearguard comeback from 8-3 down with 4 frames to play.

In the 180BETS.com First Division the withdrawal of Lee Green Constitutional Club and removal of all points won against them has had a significant impact at the top of the table.

The Blue Anchor have opened up a 4 point lead despite their 8-7 in frames defeat to the Coach & Horses for whom Edward Travers 3/3 (again) and Paul Saxton 3/3 were outstanding.

The Angelsea Arms have moved into 3rd place after their good away win by 10-5 in frames at Riley’s Ramblers with Scott Foster and Dan Crump 2/2.

Our Lady of the Rosary are 4th, with a game in hand over Blue Anchor, and nicely placed to make their promotional challenge after their 11-4 defeat of the White Hart.

Summerfield are mid table, also with a game in hand over the leaders, following their 10-5 in frames victory over the Running Horses.

Good luck to the We Anchor In Hope who are representing the South London & Kent Pool Alliance at the national finals in Great Yarmouth this weekend.
