BECKENHAM Ladies Lacrosse Club opened in determined mood against Premiership opponents Purley.
Some of Becks’ play was scintillating, not least from Hollie Harrington whose power was a constant thorn in the Purley side from the start.
Harrington opened the scoring within six seconds when she drove from the draw to thunder a shot past the hapless goalkeeper.
Beckenham played some irresistible lacrosse.
Their movement and stick skills were impressive with Saville, Monaghan and Alford moving the ball and creating space.
Brett and Harrington consistently arrived in the right place at the right time to be on the end of the right pass with the right shot.
Beckenham stretched away into a comfortable lead with some tremendous team play.
Their patience around goal, settling the ball and then playing a telling pass, was a delight, though the final score flattered them as Purley could have scored six more were it not for the impressive Issy McNab in goal.
Beckenham’s scorers were Harrington (5), Brett (7), Davis, Saville, Guilor and Carnegie-Brown.
