A TRIO of boxers from the Frank Bruno Academy in Orpington were in action at two events last weekend.

On Friday evening Jordan Ellis and Ben Webster took to the ring at the Prince Regents Hotel in Chigwell.

Despite boxing well in his debut bout, Ellis lost on points but more experienced club colleague Ben Webster won his fight on a majority decision.

The following evening it was the turn of Ben’s twin brother Toby Webster to compete against a fighter from Alma ABC in Brentwood, essex.

Toby had put in six months of hard training in preparation and saw his hard work pay off by triumphing the first round and going on to build on this by obtaining a unanimous decision from the judges.

The Frank bruno Academy is now well and truly on the map, thanks to founder and first coach Wayne Llewellyn and second coach Ian Melin.

With lots of time and effort, all of the Academy’s boxers are ready to go and box anywhere at any time.

Plans are already afoot to host a boxing show at the Priory School in Orpington later next month, although this has yet to be confirmed.
