Week 3 of the winter season of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance saw the both teams based at the Coach & Horses in Lewisham open up a 2 point lead at the top of their respective divisions.

In the MWS Premier Division the Hotshots benefitted from New Eltham Social Club’s inability to finish and ran out winners by 11-4 in frames with Rod Altes & Rob Charmers both winning 3/3.

Paul Gafa & James Sheed both lost their 100% records on Thursday, however Martin Storey’s vital contribution winning 3/3 underpinned the Pickwick’s 9-6 in frames victory over Bellegrove Social.

The Fox Under the Hill came back from 6-3 behind to win a close fought match by 8-7 in frames away at Riley’s Rovers despite the best efforts of Rovers captain Martin Wallace winning 3/3 & Jamie Kay’s stunning 7 baller against his old team.

Debutant Rob Taylor & Shane Hutley winning 3/3 inspired O’Connor B to a 11-4 in frames away victory at the We Anchor In Hope.

O’Connors A kept in touch with the Hotshots & Pickwick at the top of the table by playing some fine attacking pool and seeing off Mattie Flockhart’s King William IV by11-4 in frames.

In the 180BETS.com First Division the Coach & Horses, for whom Ed Travers produced another perfect performance winning 3/3, continued their fine form with a 10-5 in frames away win at the Running Horses and remain in pole position.

Angelsea Arms recorded another fine win away at the White Hart by 11-4 in frames and are making good progress up the table.

Riley’s Ramblers, with Mike Foster winning 2/2, showed their true potential with another credible away triumph by 10-5 in frames over Gallies and could be in the mix at the end of the season if they can hold their current form.

Our Lady of the Rosary recorded an impressive away win at Lee Green Constitutional Club, who have relocated to Eltham Hill CIU, by 12-3 in frames and did their promotion chances no harm at all.

The Summerfield suffered the reporters curse, after l tipped them for promotion last week, losing their way against the Blue Anchor and being defeated by 12-3 in frames however with 15 matches remaining my money’s still on them.

At the recent committee meeting Paul Gafa had us in stitched when announcing that he would be entering Riley’ Speedpool competition and didn’t seem to grasp the principle that it was the shortest and not the longest time that would win the holiday to Las Vegas.

Registrations are now being taken for our Reserve League commencing early November and teams interested in joining this can visit our website at www.slkpa.com or contact Paul Gafa on 07753 926291 for information.
