STONE Lodge Bowling Club’s men played in a national competition, the Denny Plate, against Hampshire’s Chawton Park on Saturday.
Two rinks were played at home and two rinks on the road, with Stone Lodge winning by 70 shots to 61 to book a place in the quarter-final against Wellingborough this weekend at Luton Indoor BC.
Elsewhere, a mixed fours team played in the national mixed fours area zone final against Croydon at Crystal Palace and lost by seven shots.
