TOP of the table Sydenham Sports suffered their first defeat of the season with a 35-run loss against mid-table Swanscombe.
All the Sydenham bowlers did well on a consistent length with Mark Jordan once again taking the bowling honours with 3-25 and there were also useful returns from Peter Solanki (2-20) and Scott Cole (2-34).
Swanscombe posted 156-9 which was always going to be a substantial total on a damp wicket.
So it proved with only Jordan 33 and Adam Grice 30 getting into double figures as Sydenham Sports were bowled out for 121.
With the influential Andy Peirson due back this weekend, Sydenham Sports will be looking to get back to winning ways.
